Ophrys apifera

Perennial herbaceous plant with 2 oval tubers. Its stems are 15 - 35 cm high, with 2-4 rosette and 2-5 stem green leaves. The inflorescence is loose, with 3-10 to 15 flowers. The sepals are pink, with a length of 11 - 17 mm and a width of 5 - 9 mm. The two petals are linear, 3-7 mm long, fibrous. The labellum resembles a bee's body, it is elongated, three-dimensional, with the middle part curved, velvety, chestnut-brown, with yellow spots.
Self-pollinating plant. Propagated with seeds.
This orchid flowers from May to June.
